STACY JACKSON

Stacy Jackson, a four-year member of the Hofstra Softball team, helped lead the Pride to the NCAA Tournament in 1993 and 1995. Stacy was a four-time all-region and All-ECAC selection, and a three-time all-conference pick. She graduated as the school record holder in career starts (122), innings pitched (885), victories (96), strikeouts (638) and no-hitters (6). In the single-season record book, Stacy held records for innings pitched (256), victories (26 in 1992 and 94), strikeouts (175 in 1995) and ERA (0.84 in 1993). Selected team Most Valuable Player in 1992 and 1994, Stacy went on to play professionally in Parma, Italy, during the 1995 season.

After playing one season in Italy, Stacy returned to Hofstra and earned a master’s degree in education while serving as a graduate assistant in the athletic facilities department. In 1997 Stacy taught in the Valley Stream (NY) School District and served as the softball, basketball, volleyball and cheerleading coach, while also serving as the pitching coach at St. John’s University. In 1998 she moved on to the Plainedge School District and taught at Plainedge High School until 2002. During her tenure at Plainedge, Stacy served as volleyball coach, assistant softball coach, senior class advisor and work experience coordinator. During this time Stacy also was the pitching coach at Briarcliffe College.

Since 2002 Stacy has been a business education teacher at Hammonton High School in New Jersey and serves as head softball coach. Her Hammonton teams have won multiple division championships, conference titles, South Jersey championships and a state sectional championship. Stacy was named High School Coach of the Year in 2004 by the Atlantic City Press and the Philadelphia Inquirer and, as part of the 2004 team, was inducted into the Hammonton High School Hall of Fame.

Stacy also coaches the 18-under Mystics Gold softball team and has guided more than 40 student-athletes into the collegiate softball ranks.
