A softball student-athlete from 1998 to 2001, Lisa Ciavardini was a National Fastpitch Coaches Association Third Team All-American in 2000. Hofstra won 158 games, four America East Championships, and made three NCAA Tournament appearances during her tenure.

The 2001 America East Player of the Year, Ciavardini was a four-time NFCA All-Region selection and a three-time All-America East performer. She compiled a career .328 batting average, which ranked fourth all-time at the time of her graduation. She also ranks in the Hofstra career top 10 in hits (212), RBIs (146), doubles (46) and triples (12).

As a freshman in 1998, Ciavardini played in 46 games and posted a .306 average with 5 doubles, 2 triples and 25 RBIs. She even made five pitching appearances and compiled a 2-0 record with 1.17 ERA. In 1999, Ciavardini earned First Team All-America East accolades after batting .321 with 13 doubles, 2 triples, 35 RBIs in 59 games as Hofstra won its second consecutive conference title and advanced to NCAA Regionals.

Ciavardini played in all 63 games during her All-American season in 2000 and repeated as an All-America East selection after batting .314 with 15 doubles and team-highs of 7 home runs and 47 RBIs. The team won the America East title once again and advanced to NCAA Regional in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

As a senior in 2001, Ciavardini led Hofstra to a fourth consecutive America East title and a berth in the NCAA Regional in Palo Alto, California. She earned America East Player of the Year honors and was a first team all-conference selection after compiling a .332 average, 13 doubles, seven triples, six home runs, and 39 RBIs in 62 games played. Her 7 triples and 39 RBIs also led the America East.

In addition to her Hofstra playing career, Ciavardini also served two stints as an assistant coach for the Pride. She was on staff in 2002 and returned in 2005 for two seasons after serving as an assistant at James Madison in 2003 and 2004.

Ciavardini, who graduated from Hofstra with a degree in English and earned a master's degree in early childhood education from James Madison, is currently a teacher with the New York City Department of Education.
