KATE GORDON

Kate Gordon was a forward on the women's basketball team from 1994 to 1998. She ranks third on the Hofstra career-scoring list with 1,714 points. Kate is also the Pride's career leader in rebounds with 1,031 and is one of two players in program history to record more than 1,000 points and rebounds.

Kate played in 109 games during her four years with 102 starts. She averaged 15.7 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, and posted 47 career double-doubles. She also ranks second all-time with 272 steals and fourth all-time with 341 free throws. Kate led the team in rebounding in each of her four years and was the leading scorer three times.

As a freshman in 1994-95 Kate averaged 14.9 points and a team-best 7.9 rebounds en route to being named to the North Atlantic Conference All-Rookie Team. During the NAC Tournament, she scored a freshman tournament record 34 points in a quarterfinal game against Maine. Kate would earn All-NAC Tournament honors for her performance

As a sophomore she averaged 14.7 points and 10.1 rebounds and was a second team All-NAC selection. She ranked sixth in the NAC in scoring and third in rebounding, and also was 30th in the NCAA in rebounding.

During the 1996-97 season Kate averaged 15.3 points and 10 rebounds per game and shot a career-best 51 percent from the field. She was a first team All-America East selection and was twice named the America East Player of the Week. On January 4, 1997, Kate scored a career-high 38 points at Hartford, the second-highest single game total in program history.

Kate capped her career by averaging 17.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game in 1997-98. She was a first team All-America East selection and was also named to the America East All-Tournament team.

Kate has been an English teacher in the Brentwood (NY) School District for 12 years, and has four children - Liam, Ella Grace, and twins Aidan and Connor.
