Jon Masa, the only three-time All-American in Hofstra wrestling history, competed for the Pride from 2000 to 2006. Masa placed seventh at the NCAA Championships in 2003, third in 2005, and fifth in 2006 to earn his All-America accolades. Masa is also one of just three four-time CAA champions with titles in 2002, 2003, 2005, and 2006. He was the 2006 CAA Wrestler of the Year and a member of the CAA Silver Anniversary Wrestling Team. Hofstra won four CAA Championships with Masa on the mat.

Wrestling at 141 pounds as a red-shirt freshman in 2001-02, Masa compiled a 27-8 record with seven wins by fall and five by technical fall. He posted a 3-0 record on his way to his first CAA Championship and an automatic berth to the NCAA Championship.

Moving up to 149 pounds in 2002-03, Masa posted a 38-7 record with 11 pins and eight technical falls. He once again breezed through the CAA Championships to win his weight class and then won four matches at the NCAA Championship to place seventh and earn his first All-America nod. Masa would take the 2003-04 season off to train for the Olympic Games with Team Puerto Rico.

Masa returned to Hofstra in 2004-05 and went 26-10 on the year with eight wins by fall and one technical fall victory. He won his third CAA Championship (and second at 149 pounds) and then went 6-1 at the NCAA Championships with five major decisions to place third and claim his second All-America honor.

The Long Beach, New York, native closed out his career in 2005-06 by going 35-7 with eight wins by fall and seven by technical fall. Masa won all three of his CAA Championships matches for his fourth CAA title and won five NCAA Tournament matches to earn a fifth-place finish and another trip to the All-America podium.

Masa, who holds a degree in interdisciplinary studies from Hofstra, ranks fourth all-time in program history with 126 career victories and his 38 wins during the 2002-03 season are the program's seventh-highest total. Masa was Hofstra's Howard "Howdy" Myers Award recipient in 2005 as the male student-athlete of the year. He was also the 2006 CAA Championships Most Outstanding Wrestler.

A superintendent for the EW Howell Construction Group, Masa is married to former Hofstra softball player Jennifer Daddino. The couple has three children.
