Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra volleyball team will open CAA play this weekend when it hosts Hampton at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center. 

Friday's match will begin at 5 p.m. and Saturday's contest will start at 1 p.m.

Hofstra is 5-3 this season and is coming off its most exciting victory of the season as the Pride pulled a reverse sweep of Army West Point this past Saturday. It marked the program's first win in reverse sweep fashion since September 15, 2018 against Seton Hall. Beatriz Braga leads Hofstra with 113 kills, while Nil Kayaalp is tops with 101 digs, Geovanna Gonçalves Rocha has a team-best 38 blocks, and Ellie Pamatat leads the way with 165 assists. 

Hampton is 2-7 this season and most recently dropped a five-set decision to Florida A&M last Saturday. Racquel Frazier has 102 kills and 62 digs to lead the team in both categories. Ana luiza Matos is tops on the Pirates with 206 assists. 

Hofstra is 6-0 all-time against Hampton in a series that began in the 2022 campaign. The Pride has earned four consecutive sweeps over the Pirates.
