Beatriz Braga set season-highs in both kills (22) and digs (16) in the Pride's five-set loss to Liberty on Friday evening at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center. The match marked their first home contest of the season and was the Pride's first of the Hofstra Invitational.
Set scores were 25-21, 25-19, 21-25, 23-25, and 6-15. Hofstra's record falls to 4-3, while Liberty improves to 5-3.
Freshman
Dawn Pena and
GeovannaGonçalves Rocha both put up strong numbers in their first game in front of the Hofstra faithful. Pena finished with nine kills and two blocks while Gonçalves Rocha recorded five blocks, three of which came in the first set.
Both
Ellie Pamatat and
Sonja Rundcrantz extended their streaks of matches with double-digit assists after notching 26 and 22, respectively. Pamatat's streak reaches at 11 while Rundcrantz's currently sitting at three.
The Pride will face Army West Point tomorrow on FloCollege and MSGSN to wrap up the Hofstra Invitational. This will mark the third consecutive season in which Hofstra and Army West Point have met. The Pride have won two straight in their all-time series against the Black Knights, including last season's five-set victory at West Point.

- Hofstra moves to 0-2 all-time against Liberty. This marked their first matchup against the Flames since 2017.
