Hempstead, NY - Junior infielder Dylan Palmer has been named to the Preseason All-Coastal Athletic Association Baseball Team it was announced today. The team was selected in a vote of the conference's 12 head coaches.

Palmer was a Second Team All-CAA selection last season as well as a First Team ABCA/Rawlings All-Northeast Region pick following an impressive season that saw him lead the Pride and rank second in the CAA in batting at .386. The West Windsor, New Jersey native ranked second in the league with 93 hits, a total that is second all-time at Hofstra. He had six doubles, two triples, one home run, 31 RBIs and 49 runs scored in 57 games at the leadoff spot. He also stole 27 bases, ranking second in the CAA.

In addition, the league released the predicted order of finish and Hofstra was picked by the coaches to finish ninth with 51 points. Two-time defending league champion UNCW was picked to repeat with eight first place votes and 117 points. Runner-up Charleston was picked second with three first place votes and 109 points, while Northeastern was tabbed for third with one first place vote and 107 points. 

Hofstra opens the season Friday, February 14 at defending National Champion Tennessee. The Volunteers are ranked No. 2 in the preseason USA Today Coaches Poll.
