Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra women's basketball team will host Monmouth on Sunday, February 23. The game will serve as Hofstra's Black Excellence Game, and there will be over 10 black-owned local businesses at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex on Sunday.

Hofstra slipped to 9-15 overall and 4-9 in the Coastal Athletic Association following a 61-51 defeat at Northeastern last time out.
Ramatoulaye Keita led the Pride with 12 points and nine rebounds, while
LaNae' Corbett and
Alarice Gooden chipped in with eight points each against the Huskies.
After a 62-60 win over Hampton last Sunday, Monmouth heads to Hempstead sporting a 13-11 overall record and a mark of 8-5 against league opponents. Damaris Rodriguez and Taisha Exanor are the leading scorer on the Hawks with 14.3 and 12.6 points per game, respectively.
Hofstra is 6-10 all-time against Monmouth. The Pride snapped a seven-game losing streak to the Hawks with a 75-67 win in West Long Branch, New Jersey, on January 3 to begin the conference schedule for both teams.
