Hempstead, NY – Hofstra women's basketball student-athletes
Chloe Sterling and
Emma Von Essen have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
Sterling, a native of Kennesaw, Georgia, carries a 3.84 grade-point average as a marketing major. Meanwhile, Rockville Centre, New York-native Von Essen maintains a GPA of 3.68 as a community health major.
Sterling was named Preseason All-CAA Second Team, while Von Essen was named Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention, and both earned spots on the CAA All-Tournament for their play during the 2026 CAA Championship and helping the Pride become the lowest-seeded team to ever reach the championship game of a CAA Championship.
Sterling led the team with 10.3 points per game and 3.6 assists per contest, and Von Essen averaged 6.0 points per game for the Pride.
To be eligible for Academic All-District and Academic All-America honors, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.50 grade-point average and meet established criteria for playing time.
