Hofstra Opens Home Slate Against Penn

Hempstead, NY – Fresh off a thrilling road win over Yale on Tuesday, the Hofstra women's basketball team opens its home schedule with its second consecutive contest against an Ivy League opponent, when the Pride hosts Penn on Saturday, November 15, from the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.
 
Tip-off against the Quakers is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday's game will air on MSG Network and FloCollege, and WRHU will have an audio-only broadcast on the HAWC. The Pride downed Yale 73-66 on Tuesday for the first win of the season. Sandra Magolico posted career highs in scoring and rebounding with 25 points and 13 boards, plus a personal-best three steals against the Bulldogs. Alarice Gooden and Micaela Carter joined Magolico in double-digit scoring with 15 points for Gooden and 12 for Carter, and Ema Karim dished out six assists in the victory.
 
Penn are currently 2-1 on the year following a 72-55 defeat against Drexel on Wednesday. Tina Njike leads the Quakers with 12.0 points per game and 9.7 rebounds per game.
 
Saturday marks only the third-ever meeting between the two programs, and the first since the Quakers won 65-58 in the first round of the 2016 WNIT.
