Atlanta, GA – The Hofstra women's basketball team was among 112 NCAA Division I women's basketball programs honored by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) for outstanding academic achievement for the 2023-24 academic year.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II, and III, NAIA, and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2023-24 season is the 29th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
With a 3.308 team grade point average for the 2023-24 year, the Pride earned a spot in the special mention for finishing outside the top 25 but still earning academic recognition for earning a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. Hofstra is one of three Coastal Athletic Association teams to be honored by the WBCA for its academics, joining Drexel and Elon on the list of 112 NCAA Division I women's basketball programs.
