Wilmington, NC - The Hofstra University baseball team opens Coastal Athletic Association Championship play Wednesday at 4 p.m., when the sixth-seeded Pride take on the third-seeded Northeastern Huskies at Brooks Field on the campus of UNCW. The game will be streamed on FloBaseball with live statistics also available. Links can be found above or on the baseball schedule page on GoHofstra.com.

This is Hofstra's fifth appearance in the CAA Championship and the first since winning the title in 2022. Hofstra is 5-6 all-time in CAA Championship play. Hofstra was the sixth seed in 2005 and went 0-2, the Pride went 1-2 in 2012 as the No. 2 seed, 0-2 in 2018 as the sixth seed, and 4-0 in 2022 as the No. 3 seed.
Hofstra went 23-31 overall during the regular season and was 13-14 in CAA play. The Pride made a late season push, posting a 10-5 record and winning four of its last five CAA series'.

Northeastern comes into the CAA Championship with a 38-15 record and an 18-9 mark in conference play. The Huskies were the preseason favorite to win the league and are currently on a four-game winning streak.

The two teams met in the opening weekend of CAA play with the Huskies winning two of three games in Hempstead. The Pride took the opener, 3-2, in the first game of a doubleheader on March 22. Both teams scored their runs in the first inning as Tyler MacGregor homered for Northeastern, while Luke Masiuk hit a two-run double against his former team and Matt Pelcher broke the tie with a sacrifice fly. Michael O'Hanlon went six innings before closer Mike McKenna came on for the final three. The Huskies won a 13-9 slugfest in game two before taking a 13-5 win in the finale.

The winner of Wednesday's game moves on to face either top-seeded Charleston or second-seeded UNCW on Thursday (based on seeding). The loser will face the loser of the other first round game between Delaware and William & Mary at 11 a.m. Thursday in an elimination game.
