Hofstra Opens CAA Women’s Basketball Championship Against Hampton

Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra women's basketball team sets out for Washington, D.C. as the Pride competes in the 2024 Coastal Athletic Association Women's Basketball Championship. As the #13-seed in the championship, Hofstra will take on #12-seed Hampton in the first round.
 
The entirety of the five-day tournament will be played at the Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, D.C. The Pride will tip-off against the Lady Pirates at 2 p.m.
 
All first round games through the semifinals will be streamed live on FloHoops, and the championship game will air on the CBS Sports Network. WRHU will also provide an audio-only broadcast of every Hofstra game, and live statistics will be available for every game. Hofstra enters the postseason on the heels of a 57-46 road defeat to North Carolina A&T this past Saturday, putting Hofstra's record at 9-20 and 3-15 entering the postseason. Alarice Gooden, Sorelle Ineza, and Emma Von Essen all tied for the team-lead with nine points against the Lady Aggies, and Ally Knights recorded nine rebounds and five assists.
 
Hampton is 3-25 and 3-15 coming into the CAA Championship. Camryn Hill leads the Lady Pirates in scoring with 14.5 points per game, and Jenae Dublin is the team's top rebounder at 5.2 rebounds per game.
 
Hampton swept the regular season series against the Pride; Hampton won 67-62 in Virginia on January 28, and they defeated the Pride 46-42 inside the Mack Sports Complex on March 1. The Lady Pirates lead the all-time series, 3-1.
