Bogia Joins WBB Staff as Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator

| By:
Hempstead, NY – Head women's basketball coach Danielle Santos Atkinson announced the addition of Jessica Bogia as the newest Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the Hofstra women's basketball program on Thursday. Bogia joins Aaron Swinson and Michael Morgan to complete Santos Atkinson's staff for the 2023-24 season of Hofstra women's basketball.

Bogia brings 18 years of collegiate experience at the Division I level to Hempstead, including 12 years at the Division I level. She joins the Hofstra women's basketball coaching staff after a two year stint as Assistant Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Jacksonville University. Bogia was a member of the Dolphins staff from 2021-23, where her main responsibilities were recruiting, scouting, offensive game planning, and lead guard development.

"My goal is to bring in people that are committed to positively impacting the young women that are a part of this program while having a tremendous work ethic as well as the energy to match that drive, and Jessica absolutely fits that mold," Santos Atkinson said. "She has a great deal of experience of coaching at all levels and has been a part of many successful programs. She's a phenomenal recruiter with contacts all throughout the country and abroad, and she has an extensive knowledge of the X's and O's of coaching. She has deep roots within our conference, and we are absolutely thrilled to have her join the Pride family."

At Jacksonville, Bogia made an immediate impact helping the Dolphins achieve the third-largest turnaround in the country during the 2021-22 season. She helped guide them to a 12 win improvement, their first win against a Big 10 opponent, and an ASUN Women's Basketball Championship Quarterfinal appearance.  Bogia was also credited with helping Jalissa Dunlap earn ASUN All-Freshman Team honors.

Prior to Jacksonville, Bogia spent eight seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at The University of Memphis. She coached seven players to All-AAC honors, four to All-Rookie recognition, five to professional contracts overseas, and one WNBA draft pick.  As the recruiting coordinator, Memphis' recruiting classes consistently ranked in the top 60 nationally, highlighted by three consecutive top 35 classes and the top recruiting class in the American Athletic Conference in 2019. In addition to her on-court and recruiting responsibilities, she was responsible for scouting and analytics.

Bogia also coached at Eastern Illinois from 2012-13, helping the Panthers to an Ohio Valley Conference co-championship and a spot in the Women's NIT, where they advanced to the second round. At Eastern Illinois, Bogia coached two players to All-OVC First Team honors. She spent the 2011-12 season as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, guiding another backcourt member to First Team All-Conference honors.

Bogia was the head women's basketball coach at Keystone College from 2008-10, where they doubled their win totals in her first season. Prior to her time as a head coach, she was an assistant coach at the United States Merchant Marine Academy (2007-08) and at Goldey Beacom College (2006-07), in Wilmington, Delaware.

A native of Hockessin, Delaware, Bogia graduated from Lafayette College with her undergraduate degree in business and economics, and earned her masters' degree in business administration from Golden Beacom College. Bogia is married to her wife, Cassandra.
