Towson, MD – Following a thrilling 61-58 win in the first round over #13 UNCW Wednesday afternoon, the 12-seeded Hofstra women's basketball team readies itself to take on fifth-seeded North Carolina A&T in the second round of the 2023 Colonial Athletic Association Championship at SECU Arena on the campus of Towson University. Tip-off against the Aggies is set for 2:30 p.m.

In Hofstra's first round win over UNCW,
Emma Von Essen scored eight points on three straight Hofstra possessions to put the Pride in front for good over the Seahawks. All-CAA Second Team selection
Brandy Thomas led the team with 18 points, while
Zyheima Swint scored 10 points and collected 12 rebounds for her third straight game with a double-double, and
Sorelle Ineza scored 13 points.
One of three conference newcomers in 2022-23, North Carolina A&T finished its first season in the CAA with an 18-11 overall record. The Aggies placed four on various CAA postseason teams, headlined by All-CAA Second Team and CAA All-Defensive Team honoree Jazmin Harris who averages 13.7 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game. Maleia Bracone was named All-CAA Third Team after finishing on the team in scoring with 13.2 points per game and a team-best 76 steals. CAA All-Rookie Team nod Chaniya Clark enters Thursday with 6.7 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game.
Thursday will be just the second all-time meeting on the hardwood between Hofstra and North Carolina A&T. The teams previously met on January 8 of this season from the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex, with the Aggies coming away with a 63-44 win over the Pride.
