Hempstead, NY – Fresh off a series win at Elon, the Hofstra University baseball team will travel to Brookville, New York, Wednesday for a meeting against the Sharks of Long Island University. Game time at LIU Baseball Stadium is 3 p.m. The LIU game replaces the Army West Point game, which was postponed due to unplayable field conditions.

The Pride enters the game with a record of 10-8 after taking two of three from the Phoenix to open up Colonial Athletic Association play.
Anthony D'Onofrio has been Hofstra's hottest hitter of late as he enters the game against Army with a seven game hitting streak. D'Onofrio is batting .317 on the season and has raised his average more than 100 points during the hitting streak.
Hofstra's pitching and defense have been strong as well as the Pride lead the CAA in fielding percentage at .979 and are third in ERA at 4.04. Weekend starters

LIU us 13-10 on the season and has won five of its last seven games. Luke Turner leads the team with a .382 average. Michael Edelman is batting .356 with two home runs, 17 RBIs and 13 stolen bases, while Carlton Harper has a .333 average. Josh Gainer has been LIU's top relief pitcher with a 1.00 ERA and two saves in 10 appearances. Joshual Loeschorn has a 5-1 record and a 3.03 ERA in six starts.
This will be the third all-time meeting between the teams since LIU combined their athletic programs. Hofstra holds a 2-0 advantage including a 6-5 win on March 2. The Pride rallied from a three-run ninth inning deficit to win on D'Onofrio's walk-off single.
Following the game at LIU, Hofstra will return home to host Charleston in a three-game CAA series beginning Friday at 3 p.m. The Cougars are 3-0 in league play following the first weekend of league action.
