Hofstra (4-12, 1-7 CAA) picked up its fourth win of the season on Tuesday with a wire-to-wire victory over UNCW, 56-40. Hofstra sprinted out to a 9-0 lead and never looked back and eventually eclipsed its largest lead of the season twice against the Seahawks. Redshirt-senior Jaala Henry had one of her best outings of the season, leading Hofstra in points (15), rebounds (8) and assists (3). Jaylen Hines finished with 12 points, six rebounds, and one assist. Hines continues to lead Hofstra with 12.3 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game.

Northeastern (12-7, 6-3 CAA) has won four of its last five games, including a 62-50 decision over James Madison last Sunday. In that contest, Claudia Soriano recorded a team-high 19 points and also contributed with five rebounds and four assists. Kendall Currence, Northeastern's leading scorer with 15.9 points per game, had seven points and two rebounds for the Huskies. Soriano follows Currence Northeastern's only other double-digit scorer with 12.1 points per outing. Donna Ntambue hauls down a team-best average of 7.4 rebounds for the Huskies.

Hofstra is 24-28 all-time against Northeastern. The teams last faced on January 9 this season when the Huskies won, 64-51. Selma Markisic scored a career-high 15 points in the game with three three-pointers while Sorelle Ineza followed with nine points. During that game, Hofstra had only nine available players, all of who saw the floor and contributed with at least one field goal. Last season, Hofstra posted an even 2-2 record against the Huskies.
