Hempstead, NY - Looking for its first 3-0 start since 2017, the Hofstra men's lacrosse team welcomes Navy to James M. Shuart Stadium for a Friday night non-conference clash.

Hofstra improved to 2-0 on the year with a convincing 21-9 victory over Sacred Heart on Saturday.
Gerard Kane led the team with four goals, earning himself CAA Rookie of the Week honors, and
Matt Elder posted six points on five assists and a goal.
Dylan McIntosh and
Griffin Turner each finished with a hat-trick against the Pioneers, and
John Madsen and
Justin Sykes each had two goals and an assist for three points.
Following a season-opening defeat to Mount St. Mary's, the Midshipmen rebounded with a 15-5 home win over Mercer this past Saturday. Returning First-Team All-Patriot League selection Patrick Skalinak leads Navy with six goals and four assists for 10 points, while Dan Swanson adds three goals and three assists, and Jack Sweeney has found the back of the net four times in the early goings of the season.
Navy leads the all-time series against Hofstra with a 13-6 record dating back to 1965. Friday will be the first meeting between the Pride and the Midshipmen since the First Round of the 1999 NCAA Tournament, a 15-7 victory for Hofstra.
