Richmond, VA – Ahead of the 2022-23 season of women's basketball, graduate student Rosi Nicholson has been named Honorable Mention on the All-Colonial Athletic Association Preseason team, in a release by the conference office Thursday morning.

Nicholson played in 27 games and made 23 starts in 2021-22, and she earned herself a spot on the All-CAA Defensive Team last season with the third-best steals per game average in the conference (2.3) and a team-leading 62 steals. She also chipped in 5.8 points per game and was a 34.9-percent shooter on the floor, while also finishing the season with 4.0 rebounds per game, 40 assists, and 5.7 points per game for the Pride.

Nicholson had 10 games with at least three takeaways in the previous season, and she set a new career-best with seven against Northeastern on February 6. The veteran guard scored 10 or more points five times last season, had three games with at least five steals, and led the team in rebounding four times.

In addition to Nicholson's selection, the Hofstra women's basketball team was picked 13th in the CAA Preseason Poll. The poll was voted on by the 13 head coaches of the CAA.
Drexel received 142 total points and 10 first-place votes to enter the season atop the conference standings. Charleston was picked to finish second with 125 points and one first-place vote, and newcomer Stony Brook received 108 points to finish third. Towson, who was picked fifth, received the remaining two first-place votes.

Hofstra's 2022-23 season officially begins on November 7 against Rutgers at 11 a.m. in New Jersey. The Pride opens its home schedule on November 18 at 2 p.m. against North Carolina Central.
