INSIDE THE SERIES
Friday's matchup against the Dukes is the 37th all-time meeting between the two teams with JMU holding a 26-10 record against the Pride. Earlier this season, Hofstra suffered a 92-50 loss to the Dukes on the road. The teams met three times last season, twice during the regular season and once in the CAA Tournament. Hofstra dropped both contests to the Dukes during the regular season (77-54 on January 11 and 56-44 on February 10), however the Pride went on to knock off the Dukes in the quarterfinal round of the CAA Championship on March 14, 57-50. It was arguably one of the most significant wins in CAA Championship history, as the win marked the first time in the league's 36 years that a top-seeded team was eliminated in the quarterfinal round.

A WIN OVER JAMES MADISON WOULD…
  • Give Hofstra its fourth win of the season and 27th win over the Dukes in program history
  • Give Hofstra its first CAA win of the season
  • Be the 718th known victory in the history of Hofstra women's basketball and 474th at the NCAA Division I level.

SCOUTING THE DUKES (20-4, 11-2 CAA)
James Madison enters the game on a four-game winning streak. Most recently, the Dukes defeated Northeastern on the road, 86-64. In that game, Kamiah Smalls (25) and Jackie Benitez (21) each posted 20+ point performances while four total Dukes finished in double figures.

Smalls and Benitez are the two Dukes who average double figures in scoring. Smalls leads the team with 18.7 points per game, while Benitez follows with 13.0 points per game. Kayla Cooper Williams leads the Dukes with 9.5 rebounds per game. Smalls is also the leading helping hand with 2.75 assists per game.

SCOUTING THE PRIDE (3-22, 0-14 CAA)
Hofstra is coming off of a 71-54 loss to Towson on Friday night. During that contest, freshman Sorelle Ineza net a career-high 18 points (8-of-16 FG) to go along with five rebounds and two assists. Senior Marianne Kalin added nine points and nine rebounds as well.

Redshirt sophomore Jaylen Hines continues to lead Hofstra in scoring and rebounding with 10.7 points per game and 8.4 rebounds per game. Kalin and redshirt junior guard Ana Hernandez Gil follow with 9.0 points per game each, and Ineza has 8.0 points per game this season.
