HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Hofstra head women's basketball coach
Danielle Santos Atkinson announced the signing of
Jaida Robinson to a National Letter of Intent during the NCAA early signing period. Robinson will join the Pride for the 2021-22 season.
"We are thrilled to welcome Jaida to the Pride!" said Santos Atkinson. "On the court, Jaida is a fierce competitor with a high motor and passion for the game. She is a versatile threat at 6'3 and uses her length well around the rim, but she also has the ability to stretch the defense and play in the mid-range. In addition, she has been a part of competitive teams and has played with and against top level talent. That experience and maturity will help in her transition to the college level. She is a great person and a dedicated student and we look forward to her development and impact over her career here at Hofstra."
Robinson is a 6-3 forward from East Hartford, Connecticut. At East Hartford High School, Robinson led the Hornets to two-straight Class LL state tournament appearances in 2018-29 and 2019-20. In addition, Robinson and the Hornets earned the Central Connecticut Conference East Divisional Championship during her junior year, becoming the first team from East Hartford to win that title in 20 years. Following that season, Robinson earned the Unsung Player of the Year Award.
Academically, Robinson has been named to the Honor Roll every quarter during her time at East Hartford thus far. At Hofstra, Robinson plans to major in Accounting.
