HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Former Hofstra guard
Boogie Brozoski has signed a professional contract with CS Phoenix Constanta, a member of Liga Națională, the top-tier league in Romania.
"I am so excited to begin my professional basketball career," said Brozoski. "Playing professionally is something I've dreamed of my entire life and now my dream is coming true. Thank you to everyone who has constantly supported me and pushed me to my limits. I am blessed and anxious to get to Romania and learn and grow on and off the court!"
Brozoski, during her collegiate career at Michigan and Hofstra, scored 1,030 career points, capped off by a career-high 535 during her senior year at Hofstra when she averaged 16.2 points per game. In all, she shot 39 percent from the field, 35 percent from beyond the arc, and 86 percent from the stripe. In addition, she recorded a career average of 3.2 assists per game, 2.9 rebounds per game, and 1.1 steals per game.
One of Brozoski's most memorable outings was in the Colonial Athletic Association Championship First Round, when she scored 42 points against Elon which was a career-high, Hofstra single-game record, CAA Tournament Record, and Bob Carpenter Center record. On that day, she also eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for her career.
For her efforts during her final season, Brozoski was named to the CAA Second Team and All-Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Third Team. She was also named the CAA Women's Basketball Scholar Athlete of the Year and was one of 148 conference-level nominees for the NCAA Woman of the Year award.
CS Phoenix Constanta's season is set to begin in November.
