Boca Chica, Dominican Republic - Hofstra completed its exhibition trip to the Dominican Republic with a 9-0 victory over the Washington Nationals Academy team. The Pride ended the trip with a 4-2 record.

Jimmy Joyce and
Zach Altieri combined to record the shutout. Weiss allowed two hits and struck out five in three innings, while Joyce threw two scoreless frames and struck out the side in the fourth. Altieri went three innings and also struck out the side in the eighth.
Hofstra loaded the bases in the second and got on the board after a bases loaded walk to
Devon Jeffreys. Another walk and two passed balls made the score 4-0 in favor of Hofstra. The Pride put three more runs on the board in the third as
Tyler White drew a bases loaded walk and
Vinnie Costello and Jeffreys each scored on passed balls.
Myles Mensah drove in a run in the sixth with an RBI single and Hofstra closed out the scoring in the ninth with a run coming home on a balk.
The Pride open the regular season Friday night at Lamar University in Texas.
