BB: Hofstra Drops Pair Of Exhibition Games

Boca Chica, Dominican Republic - Facing a team full of Philadelphia Phillies signees, the Hofstra Baseball team dropped a pair of split squad games Friday. The Pride lost by scores of 5-3 and 2-0.

In the 5-3 loss, starting pitcher Matt Weissheier went six innings, while Teddy Cillis, Mikey Riesner and Vito Friscia each had hits. Two unearned runs proved to be the difference for the Phillies.

Brad Camarda was the starting pitcher in the second game and went five scoreless innings. Parker Quinn had a triple, while Jimmy Joyce, Rob Weissheier and Justin Smith collected singles. 

Combined in the two games, Hofstra was 8-8 in stolen base attempts.

Hofstra is back in action Saturday with games against the Houston Astros and Los Angeles Dodgers Academy teams.
