Hempstead, NY – Hofstra senior
Alan Hetherington led a solid team effort as he finished third with a time of 16.27.1 to lead three Pride runners in the top three as Hofstra won all three of its races in the first-ever on-campus Hofstra Quad Meet on Friday evening. The 5K race took place at the Hofstra Intramural Fields and Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium.
Hofstra defeated St. Francis Brooklyn, 15-45, earned a 15-45 win over Saint Peter's and captured the third victory with a 27-30 win over Wagner.
Freshman Tosin Ibironke finished in fourth place for the Pride, while sophomore
Dante Perez was in fifth place. Senior
Austin Jenkins (seventh), senior
Rodney Chirchir (eighth) and freshman
Marc Meltzer (ninth) all were also in the top 10.
Hofstra is next in action on Friday, September 29 when the Pride take part in the Lehigh University Paul Short Run.
