Hofstra Men To Compete At CAA Indoor Track & Field Championship

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's indoor track & field team will be competing in the Coastal Athletic Association Indoor Track & Field Championship on February 22 from the TRACK at New Balance in Boston, Massachusetts. Due to impending weather, the originally scheduled two-day competition will now solely be on Sunday, February 22, with competition events rescheduled for Sunday.

Head Coach Vincent Giambanco announced today Callum Beach, Arnario Briggs-Garcia, Zach Daudelin, Steiger Devil, Sameer Grewal, Jason Kerber, Abel Kipkemboi, Freddie Kipkosgei, Matthew Laudicina, Abraham Longosiwa, Ryan McAlea, John Ortiz, William Thu, Daniel Torrillo, Alex Walsh, and Noah Zeitzer will represent the Pride in Boston.

Thu, Kipkemboi and Walsh are set to compete in the men's mile race, with trials set for Sunday at 11:45 a.m. The men's 3,000m will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Kerber, Kipkemboi, Kipkosgei, Longosiwa, and Thu competing. At 3:20 p.m., Beach, Laudicina, McAlea, Ortiz, and Walsh will race in the 4x800m relay. Daudelin will represent Hofstra in the shot put event at 3:30 p.m. and the men's DMR will follow at 3:50 p.m. with Beach, Briggs-Garcia, Laudicina, McAlea, Ortiz, and Walsh competing. The 4x400m relay will take place at 4:50 p.m. with Briggs-Garcia, Devil, Grewal, Laudicina, Ortiz, and Walsh representing the Pride. Kerber, Longosiwa, Torrillo, and Zeitzer will close out the championship for the Pride with the men's 5,000m final Sunday evening at 5:25 p.m.
