Boston, MA - Freshman
Freddie Kipkosgei of the Hofstra men's indoor track & field team led the Pride and claimed the men's 3000m title with his meet record time of 8:08.29 at 2026 Coastal Athletic Association Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship on Sunday, February 22, from the TRACK at New Balance in Boston, Massachusetts. As a team, the Pride finished in 7th place with 39 points, while North Carolina A&T claimed the men's team title with 175.50 points.
Kipkosgei bested Benjamin Godish of Northeastern's 2025 meet record time of 8:09.96 by over a second.
Abraham Longosiwa earned a 9th place finish in the 3000m race with his time of 8:21.03, while
William Thu came in 10th place out of the 14-competitor field at 8:21.93.
Freshman
Abel Kipkemboi set a new program record for the Hofstra men in the mile race with his 4:08.76 time. Kipkemboi earned All-CAA accolades for his second place finish, while Thu came in fourth at 4:09.31.
Zach Daudelin recorded a program record throw of 11.89m to place 13th in the men's shot put event. The Hofstra men's distance medley relay team of Thu,
Arnario Briggs-Garcia,
Matthew Laudicina, and Kipkemboi earned a second place finish in the DMR with their time of 10:11.47.
Daniel Torrillo led the Pride in the 5000m to finish with a time of 14:37.07 in sixth place.
Jason Kerber was seventh at 14:37.21,
Noah Zeitzer was eighth at 14:37.41, and Longosiwa finished in 10th with a time of 14:45.31. Hofstra's 4x800m relay team consisting of
Callum Beach,
John Ortiz,
Ryan McAlea, and
Alex Walsh earned a seventh place finish with a time of 8:11.18.
The Hofstra men's track and field team begin their outdoor season on Sunday, March 15, at the Stony Brook Snowflake Invitational in Stony Brook, New York.
