Stony Brook, NY - The Hofstra men's outdoor track and field team opened their outdoor season on Saturday, March 14, at the Stony Brook Snowflake Classic with two student-athletes earning first-place finishes.
Steiger Devil finished in the 400m dash in first place with a time of 50.52, while
Sameer Grewal finished in fourth place at 51.73. In the shot put event,
Zach Daudelin finished in first with a throw of 12.25m and
Evan Papadopoulos came in third place with a throw of 8.87m.
Matthew Laudicina came in seventh place in the 800m run with a time of 1:58.70 and
John Ortiz was in eighth at 2:02.91.
William Thu led the Pride in the 100m dash with a 10th place finish at 13.47.
Abel Kipkemboi was 11th at 14.06,
Callum Beach was 13th at 15.01,
Ryan McAlea was 15th at 15.78,
Brian Beck was 16th at 15.89,
Alex Walsh was 17th at 16.05,
Daniel Torrillo was 18th at 16.26, and
Jamie Cartnal finished in 19th place at 16.88.
The Hofstra men's outdoor track and field team return to action on March 26 for the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, North Carolina.
