Kipkosgei Named CAA Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Year

Hempstead, NY - Hofstra men's indoor track & field freshman Freddie Kipkosgei was named the Coastal Athletic Association Men's Indoor Track and Field Rookie of the Year, the conference announced Friday morning. The postseason major award was the third earned by Kipkosgei in his first collegiate season, as he was previously recognized by the conference as the CAA Men's Cross Country Runner and Rookie of the Year. 

The Kenyan distance runner had a remarkable first indoor track and field season with the Pride where he claimed the 3000m race title at the 2026 conference championship meet with his meet record time of 8:08.29. Additionally, Kipkosgei earned a second-place finish in the 3000m at the Fastrack National Invitational with his 8:08.90 time.
