MSOC: Hofstra Heads To Charleston For CAA Tilt

Charleston, S.C. – The Hofstra Men's Soccer team travels to Charleston for a Colonial Athletic Association matchup with the Cougars at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Soccer Stadium at Patriots Point.

The game will be available via live stats and live video, with links found on this page and the Hofstra Men's Soccer schedule page.

The Pride (1-3-3, 0-0-1 CAA) opened conference play with a 1-1 draw with Elon, with senior Danny Elliott netting the equalizer for his team-leading second goal of the season. Hofstra has now played to ties in three of its past four contests.

The Cougars (2-4, 0-1 CAA) have now lost three straight, including falling to Northeastern, 1-0, in overtime in the CAA opener last week. Charleston also dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to Coastal Carolina on Wednesday night.

Tucker Heffron and Preseason All-CAA selection Leland Archer are tied for the team lead with two goals apiece while Matt Nozedar has a goal and an assist.

The Pride and the Cougars have met just four times in program history, with Hofstra holding a 2-1-1 lead in the series. The Pride took a dominant 4-0 win at James M. Shuart Stadium last year, with Elliott finding the back of the net twice and Hofstra not even allowing the Cougars to muster a shot on goal in the shutout.

The Pride then returns home to host conference foe Northeastern on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Hofstra Soccer Stadium.
