Burko Adds Another Academic Accolade, Names Scholar All-American

Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University forward Daniel Burko earned another prestigious academic award as he was named a First Team Scholar All-American by the United Soccer Coaches. He also was named to the scholar all-region team as well. It is Burko's first Scholar All-America honor. He is the 11th Scholar All-American in program history. 

The award caps a week that saw the senior from Lovenstad, Norway earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-America accolades. Burko is majoring in finance and owns a 4.00 GPA at Hofstra. He will earn his master's degree in finance tomorrow at Hofstra's mid-year commencement.

Burko turned in a huge offensive year in his first season at Hofstra. He tallied 13 goals, 5 assists, and 31 points, and ranked second on the team and the CAA in goals and points. Burko's 31 points rank 11th in the nation, while his 13 goals are 12th. He was a First Team All-Atlantic Region selection and First Team All-CAA selection.
