Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University will host its final scheduled non-conference home game of the season Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. when the Rams of Fordham University pay a visit to University Field.

Hofstra enters the game with a record of 11-30 following a win in the series finale at CAA-leading Northeastern. The Pride got a combined two-hitter from
Matt Weissheier and
Chris Weiss, while
Brad Witkowski (2-run home run) and
Rob Weissheier (3-run home run) provided the offense. Weiss, who allowed just one hit over the final 5 1/3 innings and struck out seven, was named the CAA Pitcher of the Week for his efforts.

Fordham enters the game with a record of 18-22. The Rams have lost nine straight games and were swept this past weekend at Rhode Island. In their last game Fordham went 14 innings with Rhode Island before falling by a score of 7-3. Fordham is led by Luke Stampfl's .333 average. He also has contributed four home runs and 15 RBIs. Justin Bardwell has a team-best 17 RBIs, while Jason Lundy has chipped in with four home runs. Kyle Martin has a 5-1 record and a 2.63 ERA in 19 appearances, while Alvin Melendez is 2-0 with a save and a 0.49 ERA in 12 appearances.

Hofstra is 24-29 all-time in the series with Fordham. The Rams won last year's contest, 7-6, in Hempstead on March 16.
