WBB: Hofstra Hosts Drexel For Senior Day

Hempstead, N.Y. – Hofstra Women's Basketball will close its home schedule against Drexel at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.

The Pride will honor its senior class of Sandra Dongmo, Sydni Epps, Krystal Luciano and manager Nandita Misir in a pregame ceremony. Free gold jersey t-shirts will also be available for the first 300 fans.

Fans can purchase tickets by visiting HofstraTickets.com, where it is now possible to print their tickets at home. In addition, fans can also call (516) HOF-TIXX or visit the Hofstra Athletics Box Office in the Mack Sports Complex for more ticket information.

The Pride (11-16, 4-16 Colonial Athletic Association) narrowly fell to Towson at home on Friday night, 59-56, to take a split with the Tigers on the season. Junior Ashunae Durant recorded her 24th game in double figures, leading Hofstra with 18 points. Senior Krystal Luciano chipped in 10 points and seven assists, marking her fifth straight game with at least seven helpers.

Drexel (20-7, 11-5 CAA) had a five-game win streak snapped Friday night by defending CAA champion James Madison, the Dragons' second loss to the Dukes this season. Drexel leads the conference in scoring defense (55.1), free throw percentage (.758), three-point field-goal percentage (.371) and assist/turnover ratio (1.2). Meghan Creighton tops the league individually in three-point shooting (.481) as well.

The Dragons lead the all-time series with the Pride, 38-30, including taking a 65-43 win in Philadelphia on Jan. 22. Luciano led all scorers with 19 points in the loss, while Drexel's Sarah Curran, who tops the team with 15.3 points per game, finished with 17. The team's split last season's series, with both sides winning on home court.

Hofstra will travel to Northeastern on Wednesday for the regular-season finale. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
