The Pride (6-5-6, 3-1-4 CAA) has now won five of its past six games after topping non-conference opponent Brown, 1-0, in the regular-season finale on Tuesday. Sophomore Luke Brown scored the game's only goal, his third of the season, to tie with senior Danny Elliott for the team lead in points with nine. Junior goalkeeper Alex Ashton made four saves in his fifth clean sheet of the season.

The contest with William & Mary marks the fourth consecutive season Hofstra has hosted a conference tournament game, as the Pride finished with just a single conference loss for the second straight season.

That loss, however, came at the hands of the Tribe, a 2-0 decision in Williamsburg on Oct. 14. William & Mary (8-5-2, 3-2-3 CAA) also snagged conference wins over Elon and Northeastern, while playing to draws with Drexel, Delaware and Charleston. The Tribe's pair of CAA losses came at the hands of the league's two top seeds, James Madison and UNCW.

William & Mary has a strong offense, led by the duo of Antonio Bustmante (8G, 5A) and Ryder Bell (6G, 7A), who rank first and second, respectively, in the CAA for points. In net, Phil Breno has posted a .700 save percentage and 1.00 goals-against average.

The Tribe was responsible for ending Hofstra's season a year ago, topping the Pride, 3-1, in the CAA semifinals in Hempstead. Hofstra had won the regular-season matchup, 2-1. William & Mary also holds the advantage in the all-time series, 11-7-3.
