Harrisonburg, Va. – Hofstra Women's Basketball will take its first conference road trip of the season this weekend, heading to three-time defending Colonial Athletic Association champion James Madison for a 7 p.m. matchup on Friday.

The Pride (7-5, 0-1 CAA) will be looking for its first conference win after dropping a 53-51 overtime decision to Northeastern in the CAA opener on Monday afternoon – Hofstra's second straight two-point overtime loss after falling to Hartford, 69-67, on Friday night.

Krystal Luciano led the team with a season-high 15 points and chipped in five assists. She leads the CAA in assists per game and ranks in the top 25 nationally. Junior
Ashunae Durant contributed 10 points, marking her 11th game in double figures in 12 contests this season. Durant is averaging a double-double with 16.3 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. She ranks fourth in the conference in scoring and leads the league in rebounding, while also ranking second nationally in offensive rebounds per game (5.3).
The Dukes, CAA preseason favorite and currently No. 8 in the College Insider Women's Mid-Major Top 25 Poll, come into Friday's matchup at 8-4 and 1-0 in conference after handily defeating UNCW, 73-51, on Monday. Two of James Madison's losses have come to ranked opponents, with the Dukes opening the season with an 81-69 loss to then No. 13/14 Tennessee on Nov. 11 and falling to then-No. 12/12 Florida State, 84-64, on Nov. 20. James Madison also picked up an 82-76 double-overtime win at Rutgers, and defeated Saint Joseph's, a common opponent with the Pride, 85-72.
Redshirt-senior Precious Hall, who was named to the Naismith Trophy Preseason Watch List, leads the conference and ranks third nationally in scoring, averaging 24.1 points per game, including a 46-point performance in the win over Rutgers and 39 points against nationally ranked Tennessee. She has helped the Dukes average 74.4 points per game and a 40.7 shooting percentage from the field.
James Madison leads the all-time series with the Pride, 19-9, including sweeping the season series in 2015-16. Hofstra's last win over the Dukes was a 63-62 victory on Feb. 22, 2015, when James Madison was ranked No. 23 in the country.
After taking on the Dukes, the Pride heads to Williamsburg to do battle with William & Mary, a team that has won 11 straight. Game time is set for 2 p.m. on Sunday.
