Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra Men's Lacrosse team will wrap-up their regular season road schedule this Saturday, April 23 when the Pride travel north to Amherst, MA to face the Minutemen of the University of Massachusetts in a Colonial Athletic Association contest. Game time at Garber Field is 1 p.m.
Hofstra, which has won four of their last five outings, is 8-4 overall and 2-1 in the CAA as they will be looking to clinch a spot in the four-team, conference tournament with a victory. The Pride is currently in a three-way tie for second-place in the CAA standings with Delaware and Towson. Hofstra, which defeated Delaware, 13-7 on April 9 in Hempstead, will face Towson on April 30 at James M. Shuart Stadium. The CAA Men's Lacrosse Championship will be held on May 5 and 7 at the site of the top seed.

The Pride is coming off a 10-4 victory at Drexel last Saturday. The win boosted the Pride's CAA record to 2-1 on the season. Senior midfielder
Korey Hendrickson continued his career-best season with four goals, the second time this year that he has tallied four or more goals in a game. He extended his point streak to 12 games and his goal streak to 11 contests. Classmate

This season, Hofstra has victories over North Carolina (10-5), Princeton (11-10 in OT), NJIT (19-4), Ohio State (8-5), Vermont (13-12 in OT), St. John's (15-8), Delaware (13-7) and Drexel (10-4). The Pride losses have come against Georgetown (11-6), Stony Brook (13-5), Providence (12-7) and Fairfield (9-8). Hofstra averages 10.42 goals per game and allows 8.33 per outing.
Hofstra has a balanced scoring attack that has seen four players score 24 goals or more and four tally at least 29 points on the season. The Pride is led in scoring by
Josh Byrne, who has tallied team-highs of 26 goals, 14 assists and 40 points. Senior
Korey Hendrickson, who topped his previous best of four goals against Siena in 2014 with six against Fairfield on April 2, now has 25 goals and seven assists on the year.
Sam Llinares has 20 goals for the third time in his career and now has 25 goals and seven assists. Senior Brian Von Bargen continues his great final season and now has career-highs of 24 goals and 29 points.

Jack Concannon now has an 8.41 goals against average with 136 saves and a .579 save percentage.
Hofstra and UMass have a long history in men's lacrosse. The two teams will be meeting for the 41st time on Saturday with the Minutemen leading the series, 22-18. Hofstra and UMass last met on March 21, 2015 in Hempstead with the Minutemen posting a 9-7 victory at James M. Shuart Stadium. The two teams last met in Amherst on April 19, 2014 with the Pride winning 11-6.
The Minutemen of Massachusetts come into Saturday's contest with a 4-7 overall record and a 0-3 CAA slate. UMass is on a three-game losing skid that followed back-to-back victories over North Carolina and Penn State, who are ranked 16th and 17th, respectively in this week's Nike/USILA Coaches Poll.
The Minutemen, who average 8.91 goals on offense and allow 9.82 on defense, have wins over Ohio State (16-9), Hartford (11-3), UNC (14-9) and Penn State (11-9). Their losses have come against Army West Point (9-5), Harvard (10-9), Brown (15-7), Albany (16-4), Delaware (9-7), Towson (11-8) and Fairfield (8-6).
UMass is led by sophomore Buddy Carr with 17 goals and seven assists for 24 points. Junior Brendan Hegarty is second on the team in scoring with 11 goals and four assists and juniors Dan Muller and Gianni Bianchin each have eight goals and six assists. Freshmen Tyler Bogart and Ben Spencer each have 10 goals and three assists.
UMass has started three different goalies this season. Junior D.J. Smith has posted a 10.33 goals against average with 28 saves and a .467 save percentage in eight games (186 minutes) including six starts. Sophomore Dan Dolan has recorded a 9.47 GAA with 49 saves and a .527 save percentage in eight games (278:46) with two starts. Freshman Sean Sconone has posted a 9.82 GAA with 38 saves and a .543 save percentage in five games (195:27) including three starts.
