Hempstead, NY – The 19th-ranked Hofstra Men's Lacrosse team, fresh off their second overtime victory of the season this past Tuesday, will wrap up their non-conference schedule this Saturday, March 26 when the Pride travel to Queens, New York to face the Red Storm of St. John's University at DaSilva Memorial Field. Game time is 1 p.m.

The Pride and the Red Storm will be meeting for the 18th time on Saturday. The Pride hold a 13-4 series lead. The two teams met last on March 17, 2015 in Hempstead with the Pride recording a 10-7 victory over St. John's. In 2014 at DaSilva Memorial Field, the Red Storm topped Hofstra in overtime, 11-10.
Hofstra is coming off a 13-12 overtime victory over Vermont at James M. Shuart Stadium last Tuesday. Senior
Brian von Bargen scored his fourth goal of the game just 1:11 into the overtime to give the Pride their second overtime win of the season and their fourth win in six games over the past three seasons. Earlier this year, Hofstra defeated Princeton, 11-10 in overtime on
Josh Byrne's game-winner.

Sam Llinares chipped in with a goal and two assists. Sophomore goalie
Jack Concannon made 14 saves in the Pride cage.
The Pride is now 5-3 on the season as they enter their final non-conference contest of the season at St. John's. Hofstra will be looking to snap a two-game losing skid to Big East members after losses to Georgetown and Providence this season. Following the contest against the Red Storm, Hofstra will have five regular season games remaining with all being Colonial Athletic Association contests.
The Pride, which has wins over North Carolina (10-5), Princeton (11-10 in OT), NJIT (19-4), Ohio State (8-5) and Vermont (13-12) and losses to Georgetown (11-6), Stony Brook and Providence this season, continues to be led by
Josh Byrne with 18 goals and eight assists. Byrne snapped a two-game scoring drought with his three points against Vermont. Llinares, the 2015 Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year, has added 15 goals and six assists. Both Byrne and Llinares are currently on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List.
Von Bargen now has career-highs of 18 goals and 20 points on the year while classmate
Korey Hendrickson has contributed 11 goals and five assists. Junior
Trevor Kupecky and sophomore Brendan Kavanagh each have five goals and four assists.Junior
Kris Clarke has now won 92 of 162 face-offs (.568) and picked up 53 ground balls. Sophomore goalie
Jack Concannon has a 9.13 goals against average with 92 saves and a .564 save percentage in eight games this season.
St. John's comes into Saturday's contest with a 1-7 record following their most recent contest, a 13-4 decision to CAA-member Drexel last Saturday. The Red Storm has a win over Siena (10-9) and losses to Rutgers (19-11), Jacksonville (8-7), Stony Brook (14-6), Saint Joseph's (16-8), Yale (13-8), Syracuse (15-4) and Drexel. St. John's has dropped their last three games. The Red Storm averges 7.25 goals per game on offense and allows 13.38 per outing on defense.
St. John's is led by senior attackman Eric DeJohn with 10 goals and a team-high 13 assists in seven games. Sophomore attackman Jason DeBenedictis leads the team in goals with 19 to go along with his three assists. Freshman attackman Declan Swartwood has posted six goals and six assists while senior James Bonanno has added seven goals and four assists.
Redshirt freshman goalie Michael O'Keefe has a 14.04 goals against average with 54 saves and a .454 save percentage in eight games with three starts. Junior Joseph Danaher has a 13.49 goals against average with 44 saves and a .518 save percentage in seven games with five starts.
