Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra Pride Field Hockey team is one of the 63 schools that have been honored with the 2015 Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I National Academic Team Award, the NFHCA announced.
The award is presented to programs that achieve a cumulative 3.0 or higher team grade point average.
Hofstra, which has now received the honor for six consecutive seasons, is one of four Colonial Athletic Association teams which received the 2015 Zag Field Hockey /NFHCA Division I National Academic Team award. The Pride recorded a 3.49 team grade point average.
The 2015 Zag Field Hockey / NFHCA National Academic Squad, recognizing those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2015-16 academic year, will be released on Wednesday.
The 2015 Zag Field Hockey / NFHCA Scholars of Distinction, recognizing outstanding student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2015-16 academic year, will be released later this week.
