Hempstead, NY – The Coastal Athletic Association announced its major postseason award winners and All-CAA honorees on Thursday, and
Teresa Karoff,
Jaime Lewis,
Jamie Mc Millan,
Gwenn van Dijk, and
Luci Hollister were honored for their play during the regular season with all-conference recognition.
Karoff and Lewis were both named to the first team, while Mc Millan and van Dijk were placed on the second team, and van Dijk and Hollister were named to the all-rookie team. These are the first postseason CAA honors for Karoff and Lewis, while Mc Millan received second team honors in 2024.
A senior defender, Karoff had a breakout season for the Pride with 29 points on 13 goals and three assists in 17 starts. She became the first Hofstra field hockey student-athlete to score double-digit goals in a season since Cami Larsson finished the 2019 season with 11. She leads the CAA in goals and points, while her 13 goals ranks her tied for 22nd in the country and she sits 33rd in Division I for points. Karoff's best game of the season came against New Haven on October 19, where she recorded seven points on three goals and an assist to earn CAA Offensive Player of the Week honors.
A junior forward, Lewis played in all 17 games with 16 starts, and she finished with a single-season high of eight goals for 16 points, also a personal best. Lewis had two multi-goal games against New Haven and Towson, while she also scored goals against Rider, Bryant, Villanova, and William & Mary. Lewis ended the regular season with goals in her last three games.
A senior defender, Mc Millan started all 17 games and recorded six points with four assists and a goal, scoring against New Haven while dishing out assists versus Rider, UC Davis, Wagner, and New Haven. In addition to her offensive output, Mc Millan finished with a defensive save, and she was a key component of a Hofstra defense that ranked third in the CAA in goals allowed and goals against average.
A freshman midfielder, van Dijk enjoyed an incredibly successful debut season, playing in all 17 games and assisting 10 times and scoring three times for 16 points. van Dijk recorded assists in nine games, including a two-assist outing versus New Haven, and she scored goals against Sacred Heart, Bryant, and Wagner, with her tallies against Bryant and Wagner being overtime game-winners. She finished the regular season ranked fourth in the country in total assists and assists per game for all Division I freshman. van Dijk earned Rookie or Co-Rookie of the Week honors three times this season.
A first-year goalkeeper, Hollister was a steady presence between the posts during her first season in a Hofstra uniform. In 16 appearances, Hollister totaled 82 saves and a .732 save percentage with a goals against average of 1.93. Hollister totaled a season-high of 11 saves against Yale, and she posted shutout wins against Sacred Heart and William & Mary. Hollister's 5.13 saves per game ranks her 27th in the country, and she ranks 34th in Division I for save percentage.
The Pride's season continues on Friday, November 7, with a 10 a.m. matchup against Monmouth in West Long Branch, New Jersey in the semifinals of the 2025 CAA Championship.
