WBB: Hofstra Looks To Rebound Sunday At Towson

Hempstead, N.Y. – Hofstra will look to get back on the winning track when the Pride caps a stretch of two games in three days with a 1 p.m. road Colonial Athletic Association matchup on Sunday at Towson.

Hofstra (16-5, 7-3 CAA) will try to bounce back from a 71-54 defeat to defending CAA-champion James Madison on Friday. The Pride will head to SECU Arena against a Towson (5-16, 2-8) team that is looking to snap a six-game losing streak.

Free live audio will be offered via Pride Productions with live video also available on the portal courtesy of Towson. The game can also be heard locally on terrestrial radio via WRHU (88.7 FM). Live statistics will also be available.

The Pride has won six of the last eight games and will embark on a three-game road trip as the regular season winds down. Five of the final eight regular season games will come on the road, including next week's trip through William & Mary and JMU.

Hofstra has won the last three in the series after posting a series sweep in 2014-15 and coming away with last month's win. Hofstra has won seven of the last 10 meetings against the Tigers. Towson is 3-6 at home this season.

Four Hofstra players scored in double figures in the Pride's 64-60 win at Towson on Jan. 24. Senior guard Asia Jackson scored 20 points off the bench in that contest, which gave Hofstra a 31-30 advantage in the all-time series. Junior forward Anjie White notched a double-double by going for 12 points and 11 rebounds and sophomore Ashunae Durant grabbed 15 rebounds.

The Pride held Towson to 33.8 percent shooting, though Raven Bankstrom scored nearly a third of her team's points by going for 19. Daijha Thomas hauled in a game-high 17 rebounds, including eight on the offensive glass, to give the Tigers a chance to come back in the game.

Durant was Hofstra's main offensive force against James Madison, scoring 20 points and shooting 8-for-11 on free throws. She also blocked two shots and made one steal in playing 35 minutes.

Despite the loss to JMU, Hofstra is still 9-1 at home this season. The Pride is also 6-3 in road games and will look to bolster that mark playing in Towson's third-year arena.

Hofstra entered the week ranked 21st in the latest College Insider mid-major poll, earning 164 points. Only James Madison at 15 was ranked higher among CAA schools.
