MSOC: Hofstra Hosts Binghamton For Senior Night

Hempstead, N.Y. – The weekend was eventful for Hofstra Men's Soccer, playing the top team in the nation for the first time in program history and earning the No. 1 seed and the right to host the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament. The Pride will have a quick turnaround, welcoming Binghamton to Hofstra Soccer Stadium for Senior Night at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

The game will be available via live stats and Pride Productions live video and audio, with links available here and on the men's soccer schedule page at GoHofstra.com.

Fans can purchase tickets by visiting HofstraTickets.com, where it is now possible to print tickets at home. In addition, fans can also call (516) HOF-TIXX or visit the Hofstra Athletics Box Office in the Mack Sports Complex for more ticket information.

The Pride headed to College Park, Maryland, on Friday and played No. 1 Maryland close in a 2-1 loss. Junior Meshack Eshun Addy scored his fifth goal of the season, marking Hofstra's first goal against the Terrapins in four all-time meetings and the team's first goal against a ranked opponent in 2016. The Pride also outshot the Terps, 10-6.

Meanwhile, after Saturday night's CAA conference matchups, Hofstra secured the No. 1 seed and hosting rights for the CAA Tournament for the second consecutive season.

Eshun Addy is tied for second on the team in goals with classmate Danny Elliott, while freshman Luke Brown leads with six goals and two assists.

The Pride will remain out of conference for its final home game of the season. The Bearcats enter Tuesday's matchup at 6-4-5 after falling to America East foe Vermont on Saturday. Binghamton has played three teams from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, beating Canisius and Manhattan and drawing Siena. The Bearcats posted an impressive result against Massachusetts-Lowell, playing to a 1-1 draw with one of the only remaining undefeated teams in Division I.

Sophomore Nikkos Psarras and junior Ben Ovetsky lead the team with nine points each on four goals and an assist. In goal, redshirt-freshman Alejando Cubillo has made 41 saves for a .719 save percentage and 1.06 goals-against average.

The Pride and the Bearcats have met just twice before, with Hofstra winning both meetings. The Pride took a 3-2 victory in Binghamton in 2012 before defeating the Bearcats, 1-0, in Hempstead in 2014.

Hofstra will then take its final road trip of the regular season, closing out conference play at Elon on Oct. 29.
