Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Volleyball team has only one match on the schedule this week, but it is an important one as the Pride will head up to Boston to face Northeastern on Saturday at 4 p.m.
The contest pits two of the top teams in the Colonial Athletic Association against each other as Northeastern is currently 6-1 in league play and Hofstra follows closely behind at 5-2. Overall, Hofstra is 15-5 and Northeastern is 16-5.

Hofstra is coming off a superb week as the Pride extended its win streak to five matches with a perfect 3-0 week. Hofstra is now 9-0 at home this season, splitting time between the David S. Mack Fitness Center and the Mack Physical Education Center.
This is Hofstra's first five-match win streak since winning five in a row from September 23 – October 3, 2015. In addition, Hofstra has won nine straight sets. It is the program's longest streak in terms of consecutive sets won since winning 18 sets in a row from September 3 – September 13, 2014.

Laura Masciullo has taken over the team lead in kills with 240 with senior
Veronika Kostova in second with 237. Sophomore
Luisa Domingues has posted a team-best 328 digs to far and away lead the squad this season. In the setting category, senior
Hannah Klemm has dished out 625 to rank first on the team, while freshman
Luisa Sydlik is second with 268. Sophomore
Michela Rucli has had a strong sophomore campaign with a team-high 71 blocks and also ranks fourth with 178 kills.
Jamie Bredahl is Northeastern's top player this season as she has team-highs of 200 kills and 31 service aces and ranks second on the Huskies with 221 digs.
Hofstra is 38-11 all-time against Northeastern. The Pride won both matches last season and has won five straight in the series.
After the match against the Huskies, Hofstra will play two more road matches the following weekend as they will visit William & Mary on October 21 and James Madison on October 21.
