8/13/2005 12:00:00 PM

Lizanne Murphy had five points, five rebounds and a game-high five steals to lead Canada to a 71-60 win over Great Britain at the World University Games in Turkey on Saturday.

With the win, Canada improves to 2-1 at the World University Games, including a win over Lebanon and a loss to Chinese Taipei.

Canada led Great Britain 42-26 at the half, but Great Britain rallied to pull within a single point at the end of the third quarter at 52-51. Canada's defense tightened up, though, holding the British team to only nine points in the fourth quarter as it pulled away for the win.

Kaila Chapdelaine led Canada with 14 points, while Holly Robertson came off the bench to add 12 points on 5-5 shooting and a team-high seven rebounds. Britain's Rosalee Mason led all scorers with 18 points.
