Hempstead, NY - Hofstra senior pitcher Carlos Martinez was named the CAA Co-Pitcher of the Week for his performance this past Thursday at Stony Brook. Martinez shares the award with Northeastern's Robbie O'Connor.

Martinez delivered a stellar performance in what was likely a must-win game for the Pride to earn a CAA Championship berth. The right-hander threw 8 ⅓ innings of scoreless baseball, allowing six hits and striking out seven in the Pride's 4-0 victory. The 2024 All-CAA First Team selection did not allow a runner past second base as he pitched into the ninth inning for the second consecutive start. It was also Martinez's seventh consecutive game with at least seven strikeouts.

Hofstra and Martinez will be back in action Wednesday (12 p.m.) as the fifth-seeded Pride take on fourth-seeded Charleston in the opening round of the CAA Championship at UNCW.
