Hofstra Heads South For Weekend Series

Hemp[stead, NY - The Hofstra Baseball team travels south for an out of division CAA series at UNC Wilmington this weekend. The series gets underway Friday night at 6 p.m. from Brooks Field in Wilmington, North Carolina. The series continues Saturday at 4 p.m. before concluding Sunday at 1 p.m. All three games will be streamed live on FloCollege with live statistics also available.

Hofstra enters the weekend with a record of 11-19 overall and 6-9 in CAA play. The Pride are fourth in the CAA North Division. Hofstra is coming off a 10-7 loss at St. John's Tuesday.

The Seahawks are 20-16 overall and 9-6 in the CAA. UNCW sits in second place in the CAA South Division. UNCW dropped its last game, 14-5, at No. 3 North Carolina on Tuesday.

Pitching matchups for the series will be:
Friday: Carlos Martinez vs. Connor Mashburn
Saturday: Chris Bedford vs. Copper Allen
Sunday: Nick Reese vs. Bromley Thornton

Hofstra is 19-45 all-time against UNCW. The Pride went 1-2 against the Seahawks last season in a three-game series at University Field. Hofstra was also 1-2 against UNCW in their last trip to Brooks Field in 2024.

Following the weekend series, Hofstra will play at NJIT on Tuesday before a three-game series at Northeastern next weekend.
