Hofstra Heads To Delaware For Weekend Series

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University baseball team will travel to Newark, Delaware, for a weekend series against the University of Delaware Blue Hens. All three games will be streamed live on FloCollege, with first pitch for Friday's game scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The series continues at Bob Hannah Stadium Saturday at 6:30 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m. Links for video and live statistics can be found at GoHofstra.com. 

The Pride (13-28, 3-12 CAA) is coming off a loss to NJIT on Wednesday. Jake Harring and Trent Jenks each hit their first career home runs in the bottom of the ninth inning. Hofstra utilized five pitchers on the day with Brian Hart allowing one run in three innings and Michael Heyman pitching 1 ⅓ perfect innings. Sean Lane and Dom Camera each went 1-3 with an RBI for the Pride, while CJ Griggs added a double in two at-bats. 

On the season, Dylan Palmer leads the Pride with a .401 average, 67 hits,  21 stolen bases, and single-season school record 6 triples.  Luke Masiuk has been the Pride's top power threat with 12 doubles, 8 home runs, and 36 RBIs. Lane has six home runs and 14 RBIs. Danny Kelleher has allowed only three base runners over his last seven innings pitched and has allowed no earned runs over that span.

Delaware (22-17, 8-7 CAA) is coming off of a victory at Saint Joseph's on Tuesday. The Blue Hens are led by Aaron Graeber who paces the Blue Hens with 10 home runs and a .369 average.

The Pride are 33-85 all-time against the Blue Hens. The teams faced off in a three-game series last season that saw Delaware win twice. The Pride won game two in a dramatic 5-4 win in 11 innings as Santino Rosso delivered a walk-off single. 

Following this weekend's series, the Pride will travel to South Orange, New Jersey, to face Seton Hall in a midweek matchup. First pitch at Owen T. Carroll Field is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30.
