Hofstra Hosts Seton Hall Tuesday In Lone Midweek Game

Hempstead, NY - Following a 2-1 Coastal Athletic Association series win at Monmouth over the weekend, the Hofstra University baseball team returns home to host Seton Hall Tuesday. First pitch at University Field is scheduled for 3 p.m.

Hofstra enters the series with a 9-14 record. The Pride took the first two games at Monmouth before losing in 10 innings in the series finale. The Hofstra offense put up 32 runs over the three games with Tyler Cox driving in eight runs during the series. Jackson Bauer had a solid start in Friday's win, allowing three runs (one earned) on eight hits over six innings. He matched his season high with six strikeouts. 

On the season, Dylan Palmer leads the Pride with a .380 average, 35 hits, and 12 stolen bases. Luke Masiuk has been the Pride's top power threat with eight doubles, six home runs, and 26 RBIs. Sean Lane has five home runs.

Seton Hall enters the game with a 9-14 record as well. The Pirates are coming off a 1-2 series against Iona this past weekend. Aiden Robbins is Seton Hall's top hitter, batting .446 with eight doubles, four triples, three home runs, and 22 RBIs. Kevin Milewski is batting .341 with six home runs and 22 RBIs, while Jimmy Brennan has a .321 average, four home runs, and 22 RBIs. 

The pitching matchup for the game will be Sean Hamilton for the Pride and Patrick Benn for the Pirates. Hamilton has no record in three appearances following his return from injury, while Benn is 1-0 in six appearances (one start). 

Hofstra and Seton Hall have met 28 times. The Pirates hold a 19-9 advantage in the series, though Hofstra won both games last season and has won three straight overall. 

Following Tuesday's game, Hofstra will return to the field on Friday in the start of a three-game CAA set at William & Mary.
