Hofstra Hosts Fairfield Tuesday; Heads To FDU Wednesday

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University baseball team will wrap up its five-game homestand Tuesday with a matchup against Fairfield University. The game is scheduled for 3 p.m. at University Field. It will be streamed live on FloCollege, with live statistics also available. Links for all can be found above or on the schedule page of GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra (5-9) is coming off a dominant 20-0 victory over the University at Albany this past sunday. Right fielder Luke Masiuk powered the Pride's offense with two grand slams, leading the way to a commanding win. Outfielder Trenton Snyder also contributed with 4 RBIs, including a two-run home run and a double that drove in two more runs, both during a seven-run fourth inning by the Pride. Center fielder Tyler Cox contributed with a single and three walks in his four plate appearances. Jackson Bauer had an impressive outing, earning his first win of the season. He threw 5 innings and recorded 6 strikeouts, while allowing just 2 hits and no runs.  

On the season, Dylan Palmer continues to pace the Pride with a .373 average, .421 on-base percentage, and 8 stolen bases. Masiuk leads the team in RBIs (15), runs scored (14), doubles (5), home runs (3), total bases (27), and is second in stolen bases (3). Bauer and Grady Lacourciere pace the team in strikeouts (13). Danny Kelleher has allowed just one run over his last 8 1/3 innings pitched.

Fairfield is 8-4 on the season and is currently in the midst of a 17-game road trip. The Stags are coming off a series sweep against George Washington in Washington D.C. Dean Ferrara enters this matchup leading the Stags in multiple offensive categories, including a .509 average and a 1.205 OPS. 

Hofstra is 10-14 all-time against Fairfield. The teams last met in 2024 with Fairfield winning, 6-2, at Cook Field. 

Following Tuesday's matchup, the Pride will travel to Teaneck, New Jersey, to face Fairleigh Dickinson University. The game is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Naimoli Family Baseball Complex. The game will be streamed live on NEC Front Row. 

The Knights are 2-13 on the season and play Monmouth Tuesday at home. Hofstra is 18-13 all-time against FDU. The teams split a pair of games last season. 

Following the pair of midweek games, Hofstra will head to Kent State this weekend for a three game series against the Golden Flashes beginning Friday afternoon.
