Hofstra Hosts LIU Tuesday At Farmingdale State

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University baseball team puts its three-game winning streak on the line Tuesday afternoon when it hosts LIU at 3 p.m. at Farmingdale State College. The game will be live streamed on FloCollege with live statistics also available. Links for both can be found on the baseball schedule page at GoHofstra.com.

The Pride (3-3) is coming off a three-game sweep of Iona this past weekend, posting walk-off wins in two of the three games. Reliever Brayden Gregg picked up wins in both ends of Sunday's doubleheader, while Trent Jenks earned the win in Saturday's game. Saturday's win came via a game-ending wild pitch, while in Sunday's first game Tyler Catstrataro was the hero as he drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 13th in what was scheduled for a seven-inning game. In the nightcap, Michael Brown had a two-run single in the sixth to snap a 1-1 tie.

LIU enters the game with a 2-6 record and is coming off being on the wrong end of a four-game sweep at the hands of UTSA in San Antonio, Texas. The Sharks lost a tough opening game by a 6-5 score, but dropped the next three games by scores of 13-0, 15-0, and 7-1.

Hofstra is 4-3 against LIU since the merger between LIU Brooklyn and LIU Post. The Pride has won the last two meetings, including a 12-10 decision last season at University Field.

Following Tuesday's game, Hofstra will head south to take on nationally ranked Kentucky in a three-game set beginning Friday at 4 p.m.
