Burko Named Academic All-American

Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University forward Daniel Burko was named a Second Team Academic All-American  as selected by College Sports Communicators. It is Burko's first Academic All-America® honor. He is the eighth Academic All-American in program history. 

Burko, a senior from Lovenstad, Norway, is majoring in finance and owns a 4.00 GPA at Hofstra. He is a two-time Academic All-District selection, earning the honor this season and in 2024 at Syracuse, where he compiled a 3.86 GPA.  

The Pride forward turned in a huge offensive year in his first season at Hofstra. He tallied 13 goals, 5 assists, and 31 points, and ranked second on the team and the CAA in goals and points. Burko's 31 points rank 11th in the nation, while his 13 goals are 12th. He was a First Team All-Atlantic Region selection and First Team All-CAA selection.
